Language: Nle?kepmxc'in

The Nlaka’pamux language has been around since time immemorial. The people who speak the language today reside in the Fraser Canyon, Lytton, Merritt areas and in between those towns all the way down into the United States. The language department at Nicomen Indian Band is constantly converting children language books from the English language into the Nlaka’pamux Language. There are also plans in the works to teach the After School Program children basic Nlak’pamax language skills.

The Citxw Nlaka’pamux Assembly has established a strategy for the revitalization of Nłeʔkepmxcín. Please take a look for video lessons, stories and legends and reflections with our elders.
